5 Simple Tips for a Better PE Ending
1. Teach the routine.
Don't assume students know how to line up. Practice where to stand, how to get there, and what "ready" looks like.
2. Give students a specific spot.
Use cones, floor spots, numbers, colors, or assigned positions so students aren't arguing about where to stand.
3. Start early.
Give yourself the last 3–5 minutes for cleanup, lining up, and reflection instead of rushing at the bell.
4. Keep the line busy.
Use a quick stretch, balance challenge, thumbs up/thumbs down question, or PE exit question while students wait.

Use the same sequence every class:
STOP → CLEAN UP → LINE UP → EXIT QUESTION → DISMISS
